Made to fit

QuanTime activities each take 45-60 minutes so that they can be completed within a single class period.

Engaging

Activities are designed to be a fun way for teachers and students to play around with quantum concepts. Teacher and student guides provided.

List of Common Materials for Hands-on Activities Involving Light

Activities that explore properties of light are one of the most common ways to introduce quantum concepts. This includes fluorescence, wave particle duality, polarization, and diffraction. The kits covering these topics share a lot of the same materials. The table below lists many of these items. We do not endorse any vendor– these links were provided to us by the kit designers and teachers and are for informational purposes. See something missing, reach out and let us know!

***Lasers and other light sources can present an eye safety hazard. Please follow all safety guidelines outlined in the manufacturer information. Users are responsible for mitigating risk and ensuring safe use.
*** Diffraction glasses are not solar eclipse glasses. Please follow all instructions and safety guidelines when using these products and exploring the properties of light.

About QuanTime

The organization of QuanTime is supported under the NSF-funded program Q2Work and was designed in response to an increase in requests for informal quantum educational activities packaged for K-12, such as the APS PhysicsQuest Kits. The inaugural QuanTime took place in celebration of World Quantum Day 2022.
